GPD on Global Governance Innovation: FAQs

Kindly note that keeping in mind health safety concerns, our responsibilities, and the objectives behind bringing together global invitees for the GPD, the eight co-sponsoring organisations have taken the decision to postpone the Global Policy Dialogue from 19-20 January 2022 to 1-2 March 2022.

As an initiative of the Global Governance and Innovation Network, the Stimson Center, Academic Council on the UN System, Plataforma CIPÓ, Leiden University, Robert Bosch Stiftung GmbH, Global Challenges Foundation, the Institute for Economics & Peace, and Club de Madrid are proud to convene the Global Policy Dialogue on Global Governance Innovation: Beyond UN75 & Our Common Agenda, from 1-2 March 2022 at the Stimson Center and Georgetown University in Washington, D.C.

This tab is now an archive of a previous Global policy Dialogue that took place March 2022. To see information on our current June GPD in conjunction with the ACUNS Annual Meeting please see the June GPD 2022 tab.

Frequently Asked Questions

Please note: we will be updating and adding additional FAQs over the coming weeks.

COVID-19 Policies and Precautions

Do I have to be fully vaccinated against COVID-10 to come to GPD?

Yes, you are considered “fully vaccinated” two weeks after completing the second dose of a two-dose COVID-19 vaccine (e.g., Pfizer or Moderna) or two weeks after receiving a single dose of a one-dose vaccine (e.g., Johnson & Johnson/Janssen). When available, you are strongly encouraged to take a booster shot in your country.

What precautionary measures are in place?

All GPD participants will be fully vaccinated, along with obtaining a negative rapid or PCR test upon arrival in the U.S. (note: In-person participants will be provided a rapid lateral flow test kit and encouraged to this test at the Beacon Hotel before the conference begins). Additionally, a temperature check will be made upon arrival at Stimson.

I have been advised to self-isolate and cannot attend. What should I do?

Please contact Banou Arjomand and Nudhara Yusuf and you will be able to attend the event virtually.

Will I be required to wear a mask?

Yes. We will inform you of any exceptions. If you are exempt from wearing a mask, please be sure to carry appropriate proof of exception with you at all times.

If you are travelling internationally, you will need to get a Covid-19 viral test no more than one day before your flight – regardless of your nationality or vaccination status. You must show your negative result to the airline before boarding. Make sure that your Covid-19 viral test is in accordance with CDC’s latest requirements.

In-person participants will also be encouraged to take a lateral flow test at the Beacon Hotel before the conference begins (and provided a test kit for this purpose).

You will need to fill out this health attestation form before checking into the Stimson Center on 1 March 2022.
