Without bold and decisive action, growing injustice within and among countries threaten global stability and shared progress. Drawing on insights from the Future of International Cooperation Report 2025 (FIC’25), this side event for the Second World Summit for Social Development, titled “Justice in Action: Beyond Promises to Progress through the World Social Summit,” highlighted collective efforts, both global and regional, to bridge the widening global justice gap.

Aligned with the World Social Summit’s focus on poverty eradication, full and productive employment for all, and social inclusion, the session explored multiple dimensions of justice, including its political-judicial, socioeconomic, and environmental characteristics. It also spotlighted innovative policy and institutional reforms — particularly at global and regional levels of governance — aimed at reducing inequality, underdevelopment, and systemic injustice. Achieving a just and sustainable future, consistent with the Summit’s objectives, requires rethinking governance, fostering inclusion, and leveraging innovation to close these divides.
