The ACUNS Annual Meeting Co-Chairs and Board of Directors thank all Annual Meeting participants for your valuable contributions. The conference brought together over 350 registrants, representing 64 nationalities, for 73 sessions!

Dr. Rosemary A. DiCarlo, United Nations Under-Secretary-General for Political and Peacebuilding Affairs delivered to Opening Keynote Address under the title “Multilateral action for peace in an era of division.” The John W. Holmes Memorial Lecture was delivered by Bintou Keita, Special Representative of the Secretary-General in the Democratic Republic of the Congo and Head of the United Nations Organization Stabilization Mission in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (MONUSCO). The Lecture focused on the conundrum of protecting civilians’ mandate in increasingly complex security and political environments.

The Annual Meeting also featured two additional plenary sessions. The first focused on AU and EU Perspectives on the New Agenda for Peace. The Closing Plenary brought together Permanent Representatives to the United Nations to discuss Reconstructing the Global Peace and Security Architecture.
