The 4th International Conference on Financing for Development, from 30 June - 3 July in Sevilla, will provide an opportunity to reform financing at all levels, including supporting reform of the international financial architecture and addressing financing challenges preventing the urgently needed investment push for the SDGs. Organizers: Ministry of Finance of Brazil, Plataforma CIPÓ, European Climate Foundation (ECF), and Delegation of the European Union to Brazil
Objective and Format: This dialogue aims to strengthen cooperation between Brazil and European partners on fair and effective tax systems, with a particular focus on financing climate action and sustainable development. The event will feature high-level opening remarks and expert presentations, followed by an interactive stakeholder dialogue. Participants will include high-level representatives from the Brazilian government—specifically the Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs—as well as from EU institutions and member states, the United Nations, OECD, civil society organizations, think-tanks and academia.

Objective and Format: This event will identify common threads that can be taken forward from FfD4 into South Africa’s G20 presidency, COP30 in Brazil and the Second World Summit for Social Development and will explore the potential for identifying other opportunities to agree on ways of implementing these principles would strengthen the capacity of countries to meet both traditional development needs and emergent global public goods challenges and ensure that the financing mechanisms of the future are responsive, fair, inclusive, and effective while crucially also fostering resilience.

Objective and Format: This session introduces a bold vision for global cooperation through Global Public Investment (GPI) — a new model based on shared contribution, benefit, and decision-making. The panel will advocate for embedding GPI principles into the FfD4 Outcome Document and future global financing frameworks.
