The Coalition for the UN We Need, the Baha’i International Community, and Global Governance Innovation Network are pleased to convene the next Road to the Summit discussion series, entitled “A Tale of Two Summits.” The hybrid event will take place at the Bahá’í International Community offices, located at 866 UN Plaza Suite 120 from 8:30 to 10:00 am on Wednesday 26 July.

The SDG Summit and the Summit of the Future are spoken of as ‘twin Summits’. Yet coherence between them cannot be assumed. How can we ensure progress and gaps identified at the SDG Summit are addressed at the Summit of the Future? What institutional structures might the Summit of the Future offer to advance SDG implementation? Join us to explore these questions and more on the heels of the High Level Political Forum.

The Road to the Summit series provides an opportunity for Member States, the United Nations, and Civil Society to consider the emerging discourse related to the future of the United Nations and to explore areas requiring further consultation, including implications at the local and national levels. At the end of each off-the-record discussion, a two-page unattributed summary is created as a substantive contribution to the process. We will create a final compilation report in advance of the Summit of the Future.

We are pleased to be joined by a host of co-sponsors who wish to advance this conversation with a particular focus on the aspirations and expectations for the United Nations and its development agenda at this moment in history. We look forward to your participation.
