The 2024 HLPF will follow up on the Political Declaration and other outcomes of the SDG Summit while contributing to the preparations for the Summit of the Future, to be convened on 22-23 September 2024, prior to the UN General Assembly high-level week. 

Modeled after the SDG Weekend that preceded the 2023 SDG Summit, the Secretary-General is convening the Summit of the Future Action Days on 20-21 September at UN HQ in New York, that will include a limited number of high-level side events identified through an open call. The deadline to submit applications for side events to be held inside UNHQ is Friday, 19 July, while the deadline to submit off-site side event applications is Monday, 19 August. 

Building on lessons learned from the SDG Action Weekend last year and the outcomes of the 2024 UN Civil Society Conference in Nairobi (9-10 May 2024), participants will be invited to share their plans and expectations for the SOTF Action Days, designed to enhance engagement, galvanize support, and help establish a roadmap of accountability for the 52 actions now being negotiated in Rev. 1 of the Pact for the Future.
