This global online consultation on Youth & the SDGs will be open from 14 March to 6 April 2023. It is organized by UN entities (UNDP, UNFPA, OSGEY, DESA) and CSO and youth partners (UN Foundation, Major Group for Children and Youth) in charge of co-organizing the session on Youth & the SDG Summit at the ECOSOC Youth Forum (Day 3, 27 April), in the lead up to the SDG Summit (in September 2023, at midpoint of the implementation of the 2030 Agenda).

Young people are invited to join and add their voices to this online public consultation. Youth are understood accordingly with national and regional age-definitions and below 35 years of age. Adolescents and young people from the Global South will be particularly encouraged to engage in the discussion.

Accelerating the COVID-19 recovery and full implementation of the 2030 Agenda with and for youth

The Bahá’í International Community, UN SDSN Youth, and Coalition for the UN We Need, invite representatives of Member States, UN agencies, and Civil Society to the “Youth Can Move the World Workshop Series” workshop series launching during the ECOSOC Youth Forum. Building off the momentum gained from the Transforming Education Summit and the establishment of the UN Youth Office, and looking forward to milestones such as the  Summit of the Future and the proposed World Social Summit, these hybrid workshops seek to distill insights around the distinctive role of young people in charting a path toward the future we collectively aspire to. Moderators will take participants through selected case studies and guiding questions. Participants will be invited to share reflections and co-draft language at the end of each session. A summary of each will be produced, and the series will feed into the development of a statement on the role of youth in advancing society, to be released in conjunction with the Summit of the Future.
