Plataforma CIPÓ’s Executive Director, Maiara Folly, delivered a copy of the policy brief titled “Lula’s New Government: Prospects for Brazilian Foreign Policy and Relations with the European Union” to President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva on Tuesday (18th) in Brussels.

Ambassador Celso Amorim, special advisor to the Presidency of the Republic, the First Lady, Janja Lula da Silva, and the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mauro Vieira, also received copies of the publication.

The meeting took place during the Heads of States Summit of the Community of Latin American and Caribbean States (CELAC) and the European Union (EU), which brought together leaders from nearly 70 countries.

Authored by Folly and Marília Closs, the study was produced in partnership with the Foundation for European Progressive Studies (FEPS) and was launched in Brussels at an event that gathered over 15 progressive parliamentarians from both Brazil and Europe.

The document analyzes cooperation opportunities between Brazil and the EU in the areas of climate, environment, sustainable development, and energy transition.

It also presents a series of recommendations to enable the strengthening of Brazil-EU bilateral relations in a more balanced and mutually beneficial way.
