Toward the Summit of the Future: Aligning the Agenda 2030 to Agenda 2063

📆 Wednesday, 12 July 12:30 - 14:00 EDT

📍866 UN Plaza, Suite 120 and on Zoom (hybrid)

Building on the recommendations of the Interim People’s Pact for the Future, the roundtable discussion enagged African diplomats and other civil society actors on their perspectives on the Summit of the Future, as it aligns to the aspirations of the 2030 Agenda and Agenda 2063. Therefore, the panel identified synergies and interlinkages between the AU Agenda 2063, UN SDGs and Our Common Agenda, and promoted the development of common positions between countries and among constituencies to ensure that the interests of the African people and that of the continent are considered at the SDG Summit, and the preparatory Ministerial Forum in September 2023 for the Summit of the Future In 2024.
